Testimonials

Please see our recent unsolicited testimonials from our clients...

"Many thanks for Sunday. You were absolutely great and everybody thought so.
Very good wishes for the band - I'm sure you'll be a huge success as you're very talented and very nice to work with.
Please let me know if there's anything I can do to recommend you and let's hope we repeat it all next year!"

S.H. - Organiser, Broadway Food Festival (Sep 14)

"I thought you would like to know that everyone we have talked to, or have come up to us is full of praise for Jazz Alchemy, saying just how much they enjoyed the music and how perfectly it fitted the Green.  I hope you enjoyed the day, it was our best so far (number 4).  I have been asked for your contact details and have passed your card on.  If you and your boys also enjoyed the day please let me know if you would like to know next year’s date."

I.R. - Organiser, Bromyard Hop Festival (Aug 14)

"Very many thanks for the lovely music that you played at our show – the music wafted over the whole show ground and I have had lots of great comments about the music.  The teas really appreciated having you over there and took a record amount of £xxx which was fantastic. I will chat with the committee but we would very much like to have you back again another year."

S.R. - Organiser, Great Comberton Flower Show (Aug 14)

The Jazz Collective presents

Jazz Alchemy

Welcome to the Jazz Alchemy web-site. Please use the gold buttons above to navigate around the site to learn more about the band.

Jazz Alchemy are a new local melodic modern jazz band. As a core the band is a quintet of drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, and sax, but can also include, violin and vocals.

The band play a wide range of styles and standards. Elements and influences that can be detected in their playing include cool jazz, swing, Latin, blues, and even a little trad. This is not the jazz of eternal blistering bebop sax solos but instead the band focus on offering jazz that is both beautifully melodic and accessible to jazz lovers and the non-initiated alike.

We offer everything from laid back easy listening melodic jazz suitable for dining through to foot-stomping "in your face" unapologetic party jazz, and everything in between.

Jazz Alchemy has £10,000,000.00 of public liability insurance cover to ensure peace of mind for band, clients, and venues.

Sophisticated jazz for :-

Concerts, Weddings, Parties, Corporate Events, Functions, Dining, Pub Gigs, Charity Events

Jazz Alchemy is a midlands based modern melodic jazz band. This is most definitely NOT fast and furious streams of be-bob from a solo saxophonist but rather a determined focus on making beautiful melodic jazz incorporating clever conversational improvisation between multiple improvising instrumentalists.

The band plays jazz standards from the 1930's onwards plus jazzy approaches to a few more contemporary pop classics, and a little original material of their own. Influences you'll hear in the music include cool jazz ("West Coast"), swing, blues, latin, and whilst definitely not a trad band there's even an undeniable hint of "trad" influence on some of the band's older tunes. The band was formed in October 2013 and performed its first gig at a private function in February 2013. Recent gigs have included Malvern Jazz Weekend, Kenilworth Jazz Club, Upton Jazz Festival, Shipston Music Proms, Morton Stanley Festival, Albrighton Party In The Yard, Bromyard Hop Festival, Broadway Food Festival, and many more (see our Past Gigs list for more details).

The Jazz Alchemy core, and most common configuration, comprises drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, and sax.

We can also include optional violin and vocals to provide any combination from a duo right through to a 7 piece band.

Checkout our extensive set lists on the Set Lists page, and listen to some of our sounds on the Sound Samples page.

Jazz Alchemy is a part of The Jazz Collective, a 2 band collective of jazz musicians based in the UK Midlands.

We specialise in sophisticated yet accessible melodic jazz for weddings, parties, corporate events, dining, concerts, festivals etc.

We can provide anything from duos to a 7 piece band with or without vocals.
